Court Interpreter Site Supervisor:
The Court Interpreter Site Supervisor is an engaging and challenging position that works to coordinate all on-site court interpretation needs of a designated region in the United States. Candidate works with the Executive Office for Immigration Review.
Duties:
Receives and timely staffs task orders for interpretation support for immigration court hearings on as as-needed-basis.
Oversees and support maintenance of a roster of qualified and certified interpreters to fill requests in the designated region.
Establishes, implements, monitors and enforces requirements for court interpreters.
Handles all administrative paperwork and reconciles signed certificates of Interpretation with task orders received. Manages any issues related to court interpreters. Administers the budget and coordinates any additional tasks requested by the Project Manager.
Oversees the administration of interpreter training programs and tests, as well as handles paperwork related to linguist security clearance procedures.
Qualifications:
BA degree with major coursework in public administration, social science, public affairs, criminal justice, sociology or related area desired.
Minimum two years program development/project management experience.
Strong organizational and project management skills.
Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of structure and operations of courts, and court administration issues desired.
Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with staffing officers, subordinates, judges, court administrators, interpreters and other stakeholders.
Familiarity with immigrant, non-English speaking or Deaf/Hard of hearing populations and issues.
Additional languages- interpreting/translating experience a plus.
