E-Mentors

AllWorld Language Consultants, Inc. (ALC) is currently seeking qualified foreign language instructors to serve as mentors for online, language-specific Communities of Practice. Online mentors (called E-Mentors) will facilitate language learning in a distant learning environment by providing instruction, diagnostic assessments, curricular materials and activities, as well as promote language interaction among cohort members.

Candidates must meet the following qualifications:

• Foreign language capability in speaking/listening and reading at an Interagency Language Roundtable proficiency level of 3/3/3;
• Extensive experience in foreign language teaching, to include classroom instruction at the undergraduate level;
• Extensive knowledge of foreign language teaching techniques and instructional systems;
• Extensive knowledge of state of the art language learning tools and software;
• Extensive knowledge of learning theory, psychology of learning, educational psychology, and Instructional Product Development;
• Extensive expertise in instructor facilitation;
• Extensive knowledge of distance learning methods;
• Extensive knowledge of education evaluation, including the development of written and performance tests;
• Experience in curriculum development and evaluation. Language curriculum development is preferred, though general curriculum development is acceptable;
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), as these applications will be used to document student progress and evaluations, deliver course material, and document programmatic metrics.

Spanish, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Swahili, Ukrainian, and Turkish
