Title III Linguists:

AllWorld Language Consultants is seeking experienced Linguists in a variety of foreign languages to support U.S. Government agencies. Candidates must be capable of satisfactorily performing various linguistic functions and duties, as described below:

  • Monitoring, translating, transcribing, interpreting, performing quality control and performing validating services
  • Providing reliable and accurate transcriptions, translation or interceptions and/or summaries of source materials or intercepts, into English
  • Attend training pertaining to the operation and upgrade of specific equipment and software
  • Perform, as required, administrative duties related to tasks
  • Attend minimization briefings


  • Proficiency in the appropriate foreign language
  • An excellent command of the English language with the ability to provide clear and concise oral and written communication
  • Ability to understand the basic elements of speech in a standard dialect
  • Skills necessary to listen and comprehend the required foreign language(s) with native or near-native ability, and ability to follow accurately the basic elements of conversation
  • Skills necessary to read and comprehend the required foreign language(s) with native or near-native ability, and to read and understand various text-types
  • Ability to comprehend slang and colloquial expressions in the required foreign language(s) and translate them into their English equivalent
  • Effective understanding of face-to-face speech with sufficiently broad vocabulary
  • Computer literate and minimum typing skills of 45 words per minute

Desired Education

  • A minimum of 3 to 5 current years of experience in translating, interpreting, or other work requiring the use of English and other languages OR; Undergraduate degree and Graduate Education where English and the foreign language were prerequisites OR; or a combination of work (that required English and another language) AND training at the Defense Language Institute, Foreign Services Institute, or comparable training
  • Native or near native speaking ability required for the following languages:

Spanish – all Dialects, Mixteco, Albanian, Armenian, Chinese, Creole, Creole Patois, Dutch, Farsi, French, Patois, Fuzhou, Hebrew, Mandarin, Patois, Pilipino/Tagalog, Portuguese, Punjabi, Romanian, Russian, Taiwanese, Vietnamese, Afghan Persian Dari, Bahasa, Indonesian, Balouchi, Bengali, Berber dialects, Burmese, Chimora, Chin, Czech, Ebo, Egbo, Ewe, Fukien, Fulani, Ga, Georgian, Hakka dialects, Hausa, Hindustani variants, Ibo, Japanese, Kachin, Kashmiri, Khumer, Kikongo/Kingiona, Korean, Kurdish, Lao, Malay Malagasy, Malayo-Polynesian, Maltese, Mandalay, Minbei, Minnan, Mon-Khmer, Moshi Dagomba, Papiamento dialect, Pashai, Pashtu, Samoan, Sanskrit, Serbo-Croatian, Sindhi, Sinhala, Somali, Sriname, Tongo, Swahili, Tajik, Taki-Taki, Tamil, Thai, Turkic, Turkish, Twi, Ukrainian, Urdu, Uzbek, Wolof, Wu, Xiang, Yiddish, Yoruba, Yue(Cantonese), Yunnanese
